Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our early childhood education team in the roles of teacher, assistant teacher, and cook. Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social skills in accordance with educational standards such as Montessori and early childhood best practices
- Support classroom management by maintaining an organized, safe, and stimulating environment for children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers
- Assist in planning and executing lesson plans that incorporate child development principles and foster curiosity and learning
- Engage children in activities that promote physical development, creativity, and social interaction while managing behavior effectively through positive reinforcement techniques
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to foster strong home-school connections
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks as part of the daily routine, adhering to health guidelines and promoting healthy eating habits
- Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure child safety and welfare at all times; respond promptly to any concerns or incidents involving child welfare
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood education theories including Montessori methods and childhood development stages
- Proven experience working with children across different age groups, especially toddlers and preschoolers
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors through effective behavior management strategies
- Experience in curriculum development focused on literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional learning
- Familiarity with special education needs and early intervention techniques to support children requiring additional assistance
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR certification to ensure safety during emergencies
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate standardized testing preparation when appropriate while fostering a love for learning
- Experience working within daycare or preschool settings with a focus on childhood welfare and development milestones
