What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor Patient Scheduling position at Children's of Alabama?
In Patient Scheduling at Main Campus Lee Building
Work schedule will be Monday - Friday 12:00pm - 8:30pm
Summary:
Acts as liaison for patient scheduling functions between medical staff, Patient Registration in the Outpatient Clinics, and ancillary services (HSF/UAB offices). Communicates potential conflicts or issue while fulfilling the expectations of the services for which the department handles scheduling for. Must provide exceptional customer service skills and be able to de-escalate issues. Must have the ability to multi-task and trouble-shoot. Completes all required annual educational and health screening requirements. Responsible for performing multiple customer-focused Patient Scheduling tasks including, but not limited to, scheduling, transcribing order, call center management, adjustments to staffing as directed, scheduler training. Performs Quality Assurance activities as indicated to include daily HRU huddles.
Other Information:
Experience/knowledge of Patient Registration processes, like scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and medical terminology. Experience with EPIC Cadence and Prelude is a plus but not required. Knowledge of electronic fax systems and interfacing to patient EHR is helpful. At least one-year experience as a registrar and/or scheduler in a healthcare setting. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Ability to work independently as well as in a group setting.
