Summary:
- The Nurse Practitioner is a registered professional nurse with advanced education, training, and experience related to a specified patient population.
Performs all other duties as assigned by the APASS Director.
Education:
- PNP– MSN with subspecialty in Pediatric Nursing and completion of a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program.
- FNP- MSN with subspecialty in Family Nursing and completion of Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program.
- Must meet the qualifications for approval to practice as a nurse practitioner according to Section 610-X-9.09 of the “Alabama Board of Nursing Administrative Code.”
- Prefer at least 6 years of nursing experience with a minimum of 2 years in the subspecialty area.
- Previous demonstration of expert clinical, management, teaching, research, and consultation skills.
- Must be certified to practice as a nurse practitioner by the Alabama Board of Nursing as stated in section 610610-X- 9.10 of the “Alabama Board of Nursing Administrative Code.”
- Current RN Licensure in the State of Alabama.
- FNP – National FNP certification
- PNP – National PNP certification
- Current BLS certification
Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:
- Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner ABON
- Basic Life Support
- Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
- Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care PNCB or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care PNCB
- Family Nurse Practitioner AANP
- Family Nurse Practitioner ANCC
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC
Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
- Masters of Science Nursing in Nursing
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
- 6 Years job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Acute
