DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

As a leading provider of pediatric cardiology services, Children’s Minnesota is the largest pediatric cardiovascular program in Minnesota, renowned for its commitment to excellence in pediatric cardiac care. Our CVICU is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest technology and staffed by a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled physicians, APPs, and nurses. 

POSITION SUMMARY

o    Provide expert clinical care to critically ill pediatric cardiac patients, including pre-and post-operative management, hemodynamic stabilization, and complex respiratory support.

o    Perform advanced procedures, including but not limited to arterial and central line placement, endotracheal intubation, and chest tube insertion.

o    Collaborate closely with attending physicians, surgeons, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

o    Provide coverage for day, night, and weekend shifts, contributing to a 24/7, high-acuity environment – a service week model to mirror the Attending MD enhances continuity of care for the patients and their families.  

QUALIFICATIONS

o    Master's degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate program.

o Current national certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).

o Ideally 1-2 years of experience working in a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit or a comparable high-acuity setting.

o    Advanced knowledge of pediatric cardiology, critical care medicine, and hemodynamic monitoring.

o    Proficiency in performing advanced procedures.

o    BLS and PALS certification required.

o    Fellowship training in pediatric critical care or pediatric cardiology preferred

COMPENSATION

o $154,970 - $179,970 Annual, Based on 1.0 FTE
