Responsibilities
- Assist the Contract Program Manager with maintenance of the contract repository.
- Assist the Contract Program Manager with maintenance and monitoring of the master index of contracts.
- Assist the Contract Program Manager with monitoring security of stored documents, contracts, and data.
- Assist with monitoring and directing alerts and notifications of contract renewal deadlines, etc.
- Provide back-up support for the intra-Hospital document routing system.
- Assists OGC attorneys with contract reviews and redlines.
- Assists the Contract Program Manager with organizing contracts (and retrieval of original executed contracts) in preparation for Joint Commission surveys ensuring Hospital Accreditation.
- Assist with the maintenance of Hospital contract templates.
Provides specialist support for the Hospital's insurance program:
- Assists the Insurance Program Manager with coordination, preparation, and submission of insurance renewals and applications for all lines of coverage.
- Assists the Insurance Program Manager with coordination of meetings of Captive Board; Assists the Insurance Program Manager with the coordination of the review, approval and signature of captive documents.
- Maintains policy information in policy books provided by insurance brokers.
- Maintains a relationship with the Hospital’s insurance brokers and coordinates meetings and conference calls with brokers, carriers, and Hospital leadership.
- Maintains and updates the physician database, including Kansas full time, Kansas part time and Missouri SIR physicians, and physician assistants, and professional liability insurance information. Provides end of employment insurance information to terminating providers.
- Provide professional liability insurance certification for physician credentialing in Kansas and Missouri.
- Communicates directly with insurance broker regarding physician liability coverage requirements, and changes and terminations of insurance.
- Assists the Insurance Program Manager with maintenance and monitoring of insured driver and physician rosters.
- Composes responses to internal and external requests for certificates of insurance, certificates of liability coverage, and claims histories.
- Assists the Insurance Program Manager with preparation and coordination of claims under all lines of insurance coverage.
- Processes vendor and indemnity payments and maintains files associated with employee practice liability and other liability claims.
- Creates and maintains paper and electronic filing of CDL drivers in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
- Composes, and maintains a list of OGC’s responses to requests for notary bonds for employees.
- Coordinates with other departments involved in physician hiring by providing an application for professional liability insurance certification.
Support work of Senior Counsel and Staff Counsel and general office support:
- Coordinates, maintains, and updates calendar and schedule for Counsel; constantly monitors Counsel’s schedule to ensure appropriate prioritization and delegation.
- Coordinates attorney-client privileged meetings, including coordinating with other leaders/departments, and other services needed to accomplish the meeting.
- Processes subpoenas and external meeting requests for CM and non-CM matters. Assists in the scheduling of meetings, depositions and court appearances. Escalates questions and concerns to coordinator, manager, and attorneys as appropriate.
- Collects, organizes, and analyzes patient records for counsel.
- Assists with the organization and tracking of case files.
- Ensures compliance with Continuing Legal Education filing and licensure requirements.
- Provides support including composing and editing correspondence, letters, e-mails, memos, legal pleadings, and other project assignments.
- Process vendor payment requests.
- Hold or eligible to obtain a Missouri Notary Commission.
- Provides other support to OGC as required and/or assigned.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality with respect to all information.
Qualifications
- High School diploma, or equivalent, plus 3-5 years' experience.
- Property and Casualty Insurance knowledge preferred.

Remote Work/Work from Home
This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
