The School Director is responsible for the overall daily operations of a licensed early childhood education center. This role ensures the school runs smoothly, meets all licensing and quality standards, and provides a safe, nurturing environment for children, families, and staff.
I. Experience & Education
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Director in a licensed childcare or early learning center.
- Meets state requirements to serve as a Center/Site Director, including any required director credentials or certificates.
- Maintains current CPR and First Aid certifications.
II. Accountability
- Oversees the center’s budget and financial expectations set by ownership.
- Ensures accurate use of center management software for attendance, billing, communication, and reporting.
- Responsible for staffing needs, including scheduling, training hours, onboarding, and maintaining complete staff files.
- Ensures the correct implementation of all administrative procedures and center policies.
- Oversees the front office, reception area, and staff spaces to maintain professionalism and organization.
- Supervises kitchen, food service, laundry, and sanitation areas for safety and compliance.
- Oversees building maintenance, grounds, storage areas, and classrooms.
- Maintains safe and developmentally appropriate playgrounds.
- Leads internal and external marketing efforts to support enrollment growth.
- Ensures all infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age programs meet state standards and internal quality guidelines.
- Represents the school professionally to families, staff, visitors, and the community.
- Manages technology, communication tools, and social media according to center expectations.

- Works flexible hours as needed to ensure the center meets all operational and licensing expectations.
- Meets state trainer requirements (if applicable) and provides ongoing training to staff.
- Uses sound judgment to manage conflicts and provide positive solutions for families, staff, and children.
- Utilizes necessary technology and software used for school operations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
