Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Groundskeeper to join our team, focusing on the upkeep and enhancement of outdoor spaces at 7 childcare locations, including lawns, landscapes, and playgrounds. Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and fertilizing to ensure healthy growth and attractive appearance of outdoor areas.
- Operate ground maintenance equipment including lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently.
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and making necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure proper watering schedules.
- Use hand tools and power tools for tasks such as edging, aerating, soil preparation, and pest management with a focus on safety protocols.
- Conduct manual handling activities like heavy lifting of materials or equipment while adhering to proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Apply pesticides or herbicides responsibly following safety guidelines for pest management on turf or landscaped areas.
Skills
- Ability to perform routine lawn and grounds upkeep for 7 locations
- Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment such as chainsaws, power tools, company vehicles, and landscaping machinery safely.
- Familiarity with pesticide management procedures and pesticide safety standards.
- Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely.
- Understanding of power tool safety protocols combined with equipment maintenance skills for longevity and performance.
