Founded in 1970, Children’s Hunger Alliance (CHA) is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger, collaborating with organizations throughout Ohio to provide nutritious meals to at-risk children who need them most. CHA partners with in-home childcare providers, childcare centers, afterschool, and summer programs to provide balanced, nutritious meals to children in their care. Additionally, they work with schools to increase breakfast participation and provide weekend meals to students. CHA educators also deliver nutrition education to support children’s long-term health.


Job Purpose:

Oversee program data and evaluation, support the provision of nutritious food throughout CHA programs, and manage program improvements.


Job Responsibilities

Program Data and Material Support

  1. Provide administrative support, including data generation and report compilation from Excel and Salesforce for senior leadership, program, and fundraising teams.
  2. Support the development and implementation of evaluation tools and improvement of metrics to demonstrate impact.
  3. Provide training and material support for internal trainings, and community events.

Nutritional Quality Oversight for Meals and Menus

  1. Arrange and facilitate meetings of the meal quality working group throughout the year; identifying challenges, and assist in maximizing nutritional quality and kids' willingness to try new foods, with direction from nutrition education staff.
  2. Food Vendor relationships & training
  • Work with the appropriate teams to determine vendor gaps, and seek out new vendor options in targeted geographic areas for CHA vended contracts, or options for sponsored centers who must secure their contracts. Conduct outreach and meet with potential vendors to determine capacity, interest, etc.
  • Engage in vendor management, including support for on-boarding, quality control, menu review, managing food labels, non-compliance issues, and risk management. Work across programs with all vendors including our weekend meal program, with food distributed from our warehouse.

Program Improvements and Pilot Projects:

  1. Assist with the development and implementation of pilot projects to expand nutritious food access and identify opportunities to expand nutritious food offerings to organizations in need of services. This would include testing new work from a cost-benefit perspective, and evaluating results to determine the viability of new work.
  2. Collaborate with the nutrition education team to identify opportunities for education in conjunction with healthy meal offerings.
  3. Establish methodology for ongoing evaluations based on research and best practices; help incorporate participant, staff and parental feedback, and document the work to share the impact of the programs.


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, nutrition, public health, community nutrition, or equivalent
  • Three to five years’ experience in nutrition/public health, social services, or equivalent
  • Interpersonal skills—including collaboration, relationship building, and team building
  • Communication skills—especially oral, written and presentation, training skills
  • Strategic thinking and implementation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with intermediate-level ability in Excel
  • Experience in Salesforce or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system preferred
  • Attention to detail and analysis to provide information and insights on data
  • Time management, planning, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Positive and resilient


Job Working Condition:

  • Hybrid; typical office environment
  • Moderate travel locally and statewide
  • Flexible work hours required infrequently


Salary : $52,000 - $55,000
