Role Description
The Montessori Trained Primary Guide is a full-time, on-site role based in Glastonbury, CT. The guide will work closely with children aged 3-6, helping them develop independence, academic skills, and social-emotional growth through the Montessori method. Key responsibilities include maintaining a prepared classroom environment, conducting individual and group lessons, observing and assessing student progress, documenting growth, and collaborating with families to support each child's development. The guide will also ensure a safe and inclusive space that aligns with Montessori principles.
Qualifications
- Experience with Montessori pedagogy, including certification as a Montessori Primary Guide (e.g., AMS, AMI, MACTE).
- Skills in classroom management, lesson planning, and curriculum implementation for children aged 3-6.
- Strong observational skills and the ability to assess and support children’s individual development.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with children, families, and colleagues.
- Passion for fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment that aligns with the Montessori philosophy.
- Ability to adapt and multitask in a dynamic classroom setting.
- Prior experience working with young children in a Montessori setting is preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
