Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum for children in an early childhood setting for after school and seasonal programming, such as summer camp.
-Design and implement seasonal programming including schedules, themes, and special events.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children under your care.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
-State of Delaware Early Childhood Teacher’s Level Certification or above preferred, minimum of Delaware Early Childhood Assistant Teacher Level Certification.
- Previous experience working with young children in a daycare or educational setting.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to create a positive and nurturing learning environment for children.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Understanding of child welfare policies and procedures.
- Must meet Delaware Office of Childcare Licensing requirements to care independently for children.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, and families.
- Willingness to learn about Montessori principles. Knowledge of these principles is a plus!
