Montessori Elementary School Teacher (one year classroom experience required)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Upper Elementary lead teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We have a mixed age classroom for 9 to 12-year-olds, a fourth to sixth grade class, with approximately 13 students.

This is a full-time, school-year position with competitive compensation, health benefits, retirement, PTO, and tuition discount. Our school year runs from late-August though the beginning of June. A Montessori teaching diploma or prior experience in a Montessori school is preferred; however, we also welcome experienced teachers from other educational settings who have successfully taught at these grade levels.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of classroom leadership, including implementing a comprehensive curriculum across all subject areas, fostering students' academic, social, and emotional development, and creating a positive, engaging learning environment. This role also requires close collaboration with colleagues, clear and effective communication with parents and staff, and a genuine desire to contribute to our warm, close-knit school community.

While experience in a Montessori elementary classroom is an asset, it is not required. We welcome educators who are new to Montessori and are eager to learn about Montessori philosophy and materials. Our experienced team provides in-house mentorship, guidance, and support, and we encourage candidates who are interested in pursuing Montessori training as they grow in the role.

Pay: $47,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
