Summary
- GENERAL SUMMARY
- Under the supervision of department leadership, the Maintenance Tech I performs general, routine maintenance and service of the health system grounds, buildings and equipment. Responsibilities include inspection, preventative maintenance and repair of equipment, facilities and utility systems. Work is performed in accordance to departmental and manufacturers standards.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs minor construction, landscaping and equipment installations.
- Operates power operated equipment in the performance of job functions.
- Records and updates documentation of repairs.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
- LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- None required.
- MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Technical training and work experience in a trade.
- Previous experience in general maintenance work.
- Must meet the insurability policy requirements to drive a CHKD vehicle.
- Must be able to pass the CHKD driving test within 30 days of employment.
- WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed inside and outside of the hospital in all weather conditions.
