The Physical Therapist II provide physical therapy services including evaluation, treatment and follow up and documentation using general competencies for inpatient and outpatient children referred to the physical therapy department. Provide supervision for PT aides/assistants and students with specific tasks and/or patients. Provide continuous consultation and education to families. The Physical Therapist II successfully fulfills the requirements of a specified area or completes and maintains the Career Advancement Program (CAP), demonstrating both excellence in job performance and on-going contributions in service, education and research, and professional development and leadership.
The Sports Medicine Center at Children's Hospital Colorado leads the region in state-of-the-art treatment for young athletes. Our fully integrated team of sports medicine doctors, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and pediatric specialists delivers care geared exclusively toward growing bodies. Physical therapists on this team are experts in evaluation and treatment of adolescent athletes who are returning to high levels of activity. Clinicians treat in our sports medicine dedicated gyms where patient population is typically aged 12-20 and made up of various operative and non-operative diagnoses specific to the young athlete. Experience in movement analysis, advanced exercise progression, and return to sport decision making for the upper and lower extremity is preferred. Clinicians are also expected to communicate with physicians, parents, coaches, athletic trainers, and performance coaches as needed to maximize rehabilitation opportunities and set expectations for key people involved in the athlete's return. This program has a strong emphasis in evidence-based practice, research initiatives, community outreach and professional growth and collaborates frequently across our six locations. Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $93,627.60 to $140,441.40

Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools and other providers to ensure the continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services. Provides consultation and education to other professionals and families as necessary.
- Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location, and time frames.
- Independently evaluates patients with a variety of diagnosis, in specialized programs, on inpatient and/or outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
- Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets.
- Provides clinical supervision as needed/when appropriate for physical therapy clinical interns and or/PT I.
- Treatment- Treat children across the continuum, with a variety of diagnoses, in specialized programs on inpatient and outpatient units and in the community.
- Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services. Seeks out appropriate mentoring/training and consults with relative Program Coordinator and/or assigned mentor for complex patient diagnoses.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degrees
- BS/BA in Physical Therapy required. Doctorate in PT preferred
- Experience
- Required: Two years of professional experience as physical therapist. Two years of professional experience as a physical therapist. Adolescent sports medicine experience required; OCS or SCS preferred; residency preferred

- DORA Requirements: State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Physical Therapist license; Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment.
