This position is a part time non-exempt job. The ability to work flexible hours is at times required to meet business needs. If working remotely, will be required to be available by telephone and email during specified hours as required. Occasional travel is required to conduct business-related activities.
The Receptionist is responsible for handling general agency telephone calls, managing the reception area in the main administrative building, and communicating with public in a manner that positively reflects the image of the organization.

- Operate the front entrance, reception desk and welcome everyone entering the lobby
- Announce, assist, and direct visitors to the appropriate employee
- Assist program staff with greeting clients and assist as needed with client appointments
- Operate main telephone switchboard: answer telephone calls promptly, direct telephone calls to the appropriate employee, and notify employee as needed
- Answer general questions that are asked about the organization
- Handle the exchange of items to be dropped off or picked up at the front desk
- Retrieve calls from general voice mailbox and forward messages as appropriate
- Assist with the general agency email and answer questions or route appropriately
- Keep the reception information up to date and convey to those who provide coverage
- Maintain updated information on employees and programs
- Take and maintain information regarding room reservations for meeting spaces
- Coordinate meeting rooms and assist visiting groups with appropriate communication
- Create signage for visitors, new employees, and other meeting groups if needed
- Coordinate package pickup and delivery with shipping resources
- Maintain neat spaces at reception desk, waiting area, and nearby meeting rooms
- Provide oversight of front desk security and assist with emergency procedures
- Serve as communication point for reporting facility problems and special arrangements
- Provide data entry or other computer assistance to support areas as requested
- Coordinate volunteers for CHS events as needed
- Support other special events as needed
- Assist education programs by taking registration for classes
- Assist other departments/divisions as time allows while maintaining the reception area
- Contribute to a positive, engaging work environment.

Job Qualifications
Education, Licenses & Certifications:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Prior switchboard or customer service experience preferred
Skills and Proficiency in:
- Strong communication skills
- Working successfully in Microsoft Office
- Attention to detail
- Conduct job in a professional and organized manner
- Be self-motivated
- Maintain confidentiality
- Work in a team environment
- Maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license, adequate auto insurance, and have access to an operating vehicle in order to attend to CHS business
