What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Activity Specialist - Broome position at Children's Home of Wyoming Conference?
Part time
Monday and Wednesday 2:30-6pm, Friday 2:30-8:00pm
Position Summary: BOOST is a fun, high‑energy recreational and academic, social program at the Southern Tier Community Center (STCC). The program gives youth access to the gymnasium, fitness equipment, college visits, community resources, and a variety of engaging activities.
- Responsible for implementing programs for youth ages 13-21.
- Responsible for following all New York State safety guidelines, has a broad knowledge of racial/social justice, and be proficient in educational, recreational, and life skill activities.
- Work collaboratively with STCC / CHWC staff and community partners to carry out the program goals and objectives
- Assist supervising and ensuring the safety of youth enrolled in the program.
- Conflict Management.
- Active engagement in all activities and programs.
- Maintain knowledge of current best practices in Positive Youth Development
Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma / GED required
- Associate's Degree in human services, psychology or related field preferred
Experience:
- 2 years of experience working with youth preferred
- Experience in event programming and coordination preferred
- Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required
