Summary
This position is responsible for reconstructing advanced imaging exams. This position reports to the Team Leader or Manager.
Responsibilities
- Has developed proficiency in a wide range of technical processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
- Understands the roles of all immediate team members and has a good understanding of how own team integrates with others.
- Regularly provides guidance and support to more junior team members on challenging technical problems; helps them balance their workload and apply their technical skills.
- Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or occur infrequently based on defined procedures and existing precedents.
- Impacts the quality, timeliness and, effectiveness of the team.
- Works within defined processes but may develop an appropriate approach for new assignments
- Explains complex technical information in situations that may be challenging with respect to controversial subject matter or characteristics of the audience.
- Must be proficient in cross sectional anatomy.
- Perform imaging procedures and produce high quality diagnostic images; maintain consistent knowledge and skill levels to meet diagnostic evaluation expectations; complete documentation of all activities according to established criteria; and adhere to department/hospital policies, procedures and processes regarding quality improvement, safety, patient flow and other issues.
- Communicate and collaborate with other radiology staff and other departmental staff to facilitate optimum patient care; participate/cooperate with all other departmental/hospital processes and activities as appropriate.
- Participate in training programs to develop additional skills and/or enhance existing skills; obtain/maintain appropriate licensure and certification; participate in patient/student education as appropriate.
- Provides guidance and advice on regulatory impact of new technology, equipment, or services. Coordinates with project lead to assure compliant implementation of projects.
- Provides education to radiology staff and medical directors on regulatory and compliance issues.
- Participates in Weekly Meetings to review and discuss post-processing quality
- Dedicates time to work directly with Cardiologists and Radiologists to outline the necessary structures and measurements based on the type of ordered exam.
- Work in conjunction with radiologists and other clinicians to ensure that the post-processed images are of maximal clinical value.
- Perform in-process visual inspections and verifications on image data quality and models while maintaining high levels of quality and efficiency.
- Under minimal supervision, perform visual inspection, determining conformance to applicable work instructions and adhering to quality standards.
- Comfortable working in a highly regulated environment where all activities must be performed in compliance with the outlined procedures. Document all work appropriately.
- Works with Radiology PACs, IT, and various vendors to assure that all 3D workstations and servers are maintained and updated.
- Responsible for the creation, measurement, annotation and transfer of post processing image data.
- Manages the transfer of image data to and from the 3D Lab workstations in an accurate and timely manner.
- Works directly with the Radiologist, Cardiologist, and Department to outline standard protocols and processes based on the exam.
- Understanding detailed anatomy and physiology
- At least 1 year Must have a minimum of 1 year post processing experience (reconstructions, 3D printing, etc). Req
- At least 5 years Must have a minimum of five years of advanced to complex level applicable Radiology experience. Req
- Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience Req
- Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Bachelor's degree in Radiology Technology or a related science field, from an accredited college or university Pref
- Registered by American Registry Radiology Technology (ARRT) Req
- Cardiac CT Certification Pref
- One of the following registries required: CT, MRI, R, NM, US, Q, M, or CRA Req
