Core Job Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining a continuous level of readiness for inspection by external groups; provide pharmacotherapy consultations as requested in practice area; prepare drug monographs, MUE advice and other information as needed for the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee; attend hospital committee meetings as needed; and provide education to pharmacists, nurses and physicians; serve as preceptor to pharmacy students, residents, and fellows
- Participate in the ongoing review of the drug formulary; participate in performance improvement activities and assist in the dispensing areas of the pharmacy as a staff pharmacist and respond to codes as needed.
- Contribute to pharmacy and medical literature; participate in research where applicable; maintain knowledge in area of expertise
- Ability to meet physical and non-physical demands as outlined in the job description is an essential function of the job
- Perform other duties and special projects as required
- No prior experience required. One to two years of previous pediatrics experience is preferred.
- Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent from an accredited School of Pharmacy, required.
- Current Texas licensure and registration as a Pharmacist or eligible for the same; licensure and registration as a Pharmacist within 90 days of the residency start date is required.
- Healthcare Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required within 90 days of hire is required.
