Job Summary


The Clinical Director leads CHC’s private pay outpatient clinical services, ensuring effectiveness, efficiency, safety, and equity across diverse populations. This role collaborates with executive leadership to maintain fiscal stability, implement evidence-based practices, and optimize clinical outcomes and operations. The Clinical Director oversees program managers and clinicians, provides limited direct service, and drives strategic initiatives to expand access and strengthen community partnerships. Strong communication, leadership, and strategic problem-solving skills are essential.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Program Development & Strategy

  • Oversee ongoing outpatient clinical programs aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Launch new programs and outreach initiatives to expand access and strengthen community partnerships.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and multi-year strategic planning, including monitoring key performance indicators and aligning program development with financial sustainability goals.
  • Supports the implementation and ongoing refinement of measurement-based care (MBC) across all clinical services, including selection of measures, clinician training and consultation, workflow design, and continuous quality improvement.

Leadership & Staff Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate clinical staff and middle managers to build leadership capacity.
  • Provide consultation on complex, high-risk, ethical, and legal clinical issues.
  • Ensure adequate supervision of unlicensed staff in compliance with state and professional regulations.

Fiscal & Operational Management

  • Manage outpatient program budgets responsibly.
  • Manages clinical staff productivity.
  • Design and optimize clinical operations and workflows in collaboration with IT, Finance, and HIM teams.
  • Lead implementation of measurement-based care and clinical technologies (e.g., AI scribing tools) to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Accountable for all bottom-line fiscal and clinical responsibility for all private pay outpatient clinical services.

Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Partner with Marketing and Community Engagement teams to grow referral networks and organizational visibility.
  • Serve as a clinical ambassador through workshops, donor events, external presentations, and other community-facing engagements.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Support compliance, HIPAA, and medical-legal risk management activities.
  • Develop and maintain clinical quality standards and a quality assurance monitoring program
  • Support clinical research initiatives to advance CHC’s mission, as needed.

Other Duties

  • Manages a small caseload of clinical patients.
  • Participate in Program Leadership and Executive Team activities.
  • Engage with the Board of Directors as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain commitment to child safety, mandated reporting duty, and professional boundaries.


Education & Qualifications


Required:

  • Licensed professional in psychology, psychiatry, or related field with 5 years post-licensure experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive administrative and managerial experience.
  • Expertise in child development and behavioral health standards of care.

Preferred:

  • Experience supervising clinical professionals.
  • Experience managing interdisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with non-profit boards and academic medical center environments.
  • Strong fiscal management and operational planning skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in child development and psychopathology.
  • Ability to lead in a complex interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Proven track record in program development, community outreach, and change management.
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels and external partners.
  • Experience with medical-legal risk management and compliance.

Physical & Special Requirements

  • Ability to lift 15 pounds and set up materials for meetings and presentations.
  • Extended periods of computer work.
  • Flexibility in work schedule; evening and weekend hours may be required.

  • Extensive interaction with peers, subordinates, and external partners.

Salary : $160,000 - $190,000
