ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Lead Case Management Assistant to support our Children's Emergency Shelter team. This position assists the Program Leader in coordinating case management activities, ensuring quality service delivery, and mentoring staff. The role combines hands-on engagement with children and administrative oversight, ideal for professionals who understand child welfare systems and trauma-informed care.
SCHEDULE: Saturday–Wednesday, First Shift (7:00 AM–3:00 PM)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate daily case management operations and support program compliance.
- Guide and coach Case Management Assistants to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
- Conduct client screenings, intakes, and eligibility assessments.
- Support documentation and reporting to maintain accuracy and meet regulatory standards.
- Participate in case planning meetings and collaborate across interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide support to children during appointments, court appearances, and transitions.
- Promote a structured, trauma-informed environment that fosters safety and stability.
- Serve as a reliable backup to the Program Leader as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field strongly preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of full-time experience working directly with children in child welfare, social services, residential, or similar settings
- Strong documentation, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example and support team development
- Commitment to trauma-informed, child-centered care
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must pass all DCS-required background checks
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and remain alert during active shifts
- Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and during inclement weather when needed
- Maintain all required certifications and ongoing training
