Position Summary:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Behavioral Intervention Specialists to join our team in Pocatello. In this vital role, you will implement individualized behavioral plans to support children (ages 3-17) with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other behavioral health challenges. You will help foster positive behavior change, promote independence, and enhance quality of life for those you serve, as well as bring hope to families who are struggling. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact through evidence-based interventions, compassionate care, and collaborative teamwork. You'll provide services for the children in a combination of locations in the community, the children's homes, and our early intervention centers.

Qualifications:

  • Must be within one year of graduating with a Bachelor's degree in a Social Science
  • For higher compensation, you must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in a social science, including social work, psychology, education, or other related discipline.
  • To ensure the highest compensation, the candidate must have at least one thousand forty (1,040) hours of experience working with children with developmental delays that can be verified with past employers. Employees can gain this experience while employed at the agency.
  • Must complete and pass an enhanced criminal history and background check conducted by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare
  • Must have CPR and First Aid Certification that covers infants and children
  • Must complete the 40 hour Registered Behavioral Technician training approved by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to demonstrate competencies related to the requirements to provide intervention services.

Children's Developmental Services will assist successful candidates with completion of coursework to successfully gain certification with Department of Health and Welfare upon hire. (Intervention Handbook Sec. 16.03.09.575)

Role Responsiblities:

  • Execute personalized behavioral intervention plans based on comprehensive assessments and data collection and under the direction of an experienced supervisor.
  • Utilize applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to promote skill development and reduce problematic behaviors.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and medical professionals to coordinate care plans and support systems.
  • Collect data meticulously during sessions to track progress, adjust strategies as needed, and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Engage in ongoing training to enhance service quality.

Behavioral Interventionist encourage the child's successful developmental growth and acceptable social behaviors through reinforcing appropriate behaviors.
