Duties
- Schedule patient appointments accurately across KSB DOX
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks to streamline patient intake processes.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to manage care plans, follow-up visits, and specialized procedures.
- Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Assist with medical billing processes including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicaid claims submissions.
- Manage patient records by filing, updating electronic charts, and maintaining organized medical files in systems like KSB DOX
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy while maintaining excellent phone etiquette.
- Support front desk operations by handling intake procedures, appointment confirmations, and patient inquiries efficiently.
- Maintain accurate documentation review processes to ensure all medical records are complete and compliant with health information management standards.
- Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office for reporting, scheduling updates, and correspondence as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical scheduling within a healthcare setting or dental clinic environment.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as KSB DOX, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures including Medicare claims processing.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards to ensure confidentiality and compliance.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to support diverse patient populations.
- Office management experience including front desk duties, insurance verification, filing, and clerical support preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with familiarity with multi-line phone systems and 10-key typing skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills complemented by professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
- Previous clinic or hospital experience is advantageous; dental office experience is a plus but not required.
