What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Consultant – ABA position at Children's Crisis Treatment Center?
This position will provide specific expertise in behavioral management for children identified to need stabilization or ongoing treatment of behavioral issues or provide expertise in working towards skill acquisition goals to address deficits in communication or skills of daily living. The Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC) is an integral participant of the treatment team, design and directs the implementation of behavior modification intervention plans and/ or skill acquisition plans which are individualized to each child/adolescents and to family needs.
Responsibilities include;
Requirements
Board Certification in Behavior Analysis BCBA, preferred. Or, License (PA.), as Behavior Specialist, Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Certified Nurse Practitioner. Master in Psychology; Clinical Social Work; Counseling; Special Education; Behavior Analysis or related field. Training is to include a minimum of 8 hours in behavior analysis/modification prior to hire.
Occupational Therapy, Speech or related field with documented training in the field of behavior modification is required.
BCBA or those Licensed and working towards BCBA preferred.
Minimum of 1 year fulltime experience providing ABA services and 12 credits in ABA from an accredited university.
State FBA training completion certificate and experience completing FBA’s, VB-MAPP, AFLS preferred.
Responsibilities include;
- Providing expertise in behavior management, teaching new skills, replacement behavior, and data collection/ analysis
- In collaboration with other treatment team members, identifying behavioral goals functionally equivalent replacement behaviors, interventions to increase functional communication or participating in activities of daily living and interventions techniques and recommending non-aversive behavioral change methods
- Completing FBA’s, VB-MAPP, AFLS
- Designing, utilizing treatment team, behavior management treatment plan
- Providing service directly to the child/and family in the home, school, daycare, and in other community programs or settings
- Participating in inter-agency service planning meetings
- Clinical lead on case
- Available to BHTs to answer questions dealing with treatment plan
