Aquatic Center Lifeguard

Children's Center of Monmouth County Programs is both a private school for special needs children ages 3-21 and a Day Program for Adults with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities.

We are looking for a certified/licensed lifeguard for our indoor pool/aquatic center. We follow a public- school schedule. We are open 5 days/week from 8:30 to 3:00 (approximate times)

We are looking for a certified/licensed Lifeguard for our Aquatic Center on our campus in Neptune NJ. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our students and adult participants while they are within the indoor pool and the Aquatic Center itself. Duties will include, but not be limited to:

Knowledge of water quality and how to test water conditions

Knowledge of general safety guidelines, in and out of the water

Ability to perform life-saving procedures, like CPR, first aid, injury treatment, and water rescue

Effective verbal communication

Assisting students and adult participants in and out of the pool,

Supervising water activities,

Ensuring the safety of all students and adult participants,

Performing necessary lifeguard duties. Additional duties and responsibilities will be outlined in the job description.

Lifeguard Certification, CPR, FA, is required. Experience is preferred.

Requirements:

- 18 years or older
- Previous lifeguard experience preferred

- Active Certification in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR is required and the ability to maintain same.
- Knowledge of pool maintenance and cleaning procedures is a plus
- Ability to swim proficiently and confidently in deep water
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team

Please note that this position may require heavy lifting at times.
