About Us
The Children's Center of the Stanford Community (CCSC) is a warm, well-established, parent-cooperative early childhood program on the beautiful Stanford University campus. Founded in 1969 as the university's first child care center, CCSC serves children ages 8 weeks to 5 years, offering a nurturing, play-based learning environment grounded in respect and curiosity.
Our teaching philosophy is inspired by Magda Gerber, Piaget, Vygotsky, and the Reggio Emilia approach. We emphasize emergent curriculum, meaningful relationships, and deep collaboration among teachers, families, and administrators.
We're currently hiring for the following positions:
Full-Time (Monday–Friday):
- Infant/Toddler Teacher (1-2 years old)
- Preschool Teacher (3-5 years old)
- Support Teacher (8 weeks-5 years old)
What You'll Do
- Work collaboratively with your teaching team to design and implement developmentally appropriate, engaging, and responsive learning experiences.
- Cultivate a nurturing, respectful environment that supports children's emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development.
- Observe and document the development through portfolios and daily reflections.
- Build strong, trusting partnerships with families as part of our cooperative model.
- Communicate openly and professionally with colleagues and families.
What We're Looking For
- AA, BA, MA, or M.Ed. in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, or a related field (BA preferred but not required)
- At least 12 ECE units and fully qualified under California State Licensing regulations
- Familiarity with play-based, emergent curriculum and child-centered philosophies like Reggio Emilia and RIE
- Experience observing and documenting young children's development
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A commitment to working in a cooperative, team-oriented environment
- Comfort with basic technology (e.g., email, Google Suite)
