Position: Community Engagement Specialist - CFRC
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $80,000/annually
Life Span Range: $80,000/annually - $90,520/annually
Work Location: Los Angeles (Magnolia Place)

Learn more about the Job:

The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining strong connections between the Community Family Resource Center and the local community. This role focuses on outreach, relationship-building, and promoting center programs and services to ensure they are accessible and responsive to community needs. The specialist works closely with families, partner organizations, and other stakeholders to foster inclusive, supportive, and collaborative environments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement (in partnership with LACDMH) community engagement strategies, support the building and strengthening relationships between families and the community, and remove barriers to accessing services.
  • Oversee community organizing, volunteer recruitment and training, problem-solving, developing and implementing an outreach plan.
  • Attend all required meetings and training
  • Has overall responsibility for contractually required documentation and data entry.
  • Maintains positive external contacts related to the program, including reporting to funding sources, community resources, collaborative partners, etc.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor and senior management informed regarding the progress of the program.

General

  • Conduct outreach and engagement activities to raise awareness of center services and programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with families, community partners, and local organizations.
  • Plan and support community events, workshops, and meetings.
  • Gather and assess community feedback to inform programming and service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts, participation data, and community needs.
  • Represent the center at community meetings, fairs, and partner events.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, or combination of education and experience. Must reside in Supervisorial District 2.
  • English and Spanish required.
  • Experience in community engagement, social services, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations in a culturally responsive manner.
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for community events.

Salary : $80,000 - $90,520
