Children's Art Classes of Aurora is seeking an experienced Fine Arts Instructor to teach our structured, skill-based curriculum to children and teens.
$28–$31/hour | Approximately 3–10 hours/week | Aurora, CO
We are particularly seeking candidates with weekday early-afternoon availability.
This is a fine-arts education position rather than a craft-based enrichment role. Our instructors teach foundational and technical skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media and other areas of visual art. Candidates must have a strong fine-arts foundation and be comfortable demonstrating techniques and explaining artistic concepts to students.
Required Qualifications
- Strong technical foundation in drawing and fine arts
- Approximately 5 years of fine-arts education, professional practice and/or relevant experience
- Experience teaching or working with groups of children
- Ability to demonstrate art techniques and explain concepts clearly
- Strong classroom/group-management skills
- Reliable and organized
- Consistent weekday early-afternoon availability
- Reliable transportation to Aurora, CO 80015
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, Studio Art or related field
- Experience teaching drawing and painting
- Experience teaching a structured fine-arts curriculum
- K–12 art education experience
- Teaching certification
- Professional or personal portfolio demonstrating technical ability
