Help Children Access Specialized Medical Care in a Child-Focused Setting

The Children's Advocacy Center of NEPA (CAC of NEPA) is seeking a Pediatric Medical Provider to support and expand specialized medical services for children throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

We are open to qualified candidates seeking either full-time or part-time employment and welcome applications from Pediatricians, Nurse Practitioners (CRNP/NP), and Physician Assistants (PA) with pediatric experience.

This position focuses on conducting forensic and traditional medical evaluations for children referred due to concerns of abuse, neglect, trauma, or exploitation. The provider will work closely with multidisciplinary team partners, including child welfare professionals, law enforcement, prosecutors, forensic interviewers, victim advocates, therapists, and other medical providers.

Previous child abuse pediatrics experience is not required. Specialized training and mentorship opportunities are available. Candidates with SANE experience or forensic medical experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic and non-forensic pediatric medical evaluations
  • Obtain and document medical histories
  • Review medical records and referral information
  • Develop medical findings and recommendations
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case review and consultation
  • Collaborate with child welfare professionals, law enforcement, prosecutors, and medical providers
  • Maintain accurate, objective, and timely medical documentation
  • Participate in continuing education and specialized training opportunities
  • Assist with the development and expansion of pediatric medical services throughout the region

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Pennsylvania medical license, CRNP license, or PA license in good standing
  • DEA registration (or ability to obtain, if applicable)
  • Experience providing care to pediatric patients
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred:

  • Board-certified Pediatrician
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification
  • SANE certification or experience
  • Experience in Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Urgent Care, Child Abuse Pediatrics, or Forensic Nursing
  • Experience working with children and families impacted by trauma
