Overview: The Community Educator Contract Position is responsible for driving the outreach and educational efforts of Children's Advocacy Center through community education trainings. This role focuses on educating community members, professionals, organizations, and students’ kindergarten through twelfth grade about child abuse prevention, identification, reporting procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Superior communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience in public speaking, training, or educational program delivery preferred
- Skilled public speaker with the ability to engage diverse audiences
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains positive working relationships with public and private schools, childcare programs, community agencies, groups, and corporations to educate and train personnel in identifying victims of child abuse, the proper steps to take to report the abuse, and the role of Children’s Advocacy Centers in child abuse investigations.
- Facilitates agency education and outreach programs.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and feedback
- Maintain educational materials and resources for various audiences
- Maintain and track hours spent conducting professional presentations.
Working Conditions
- Travel is required throughout the Collin County area to conduct presentations
- Flexible schedule including some evenings, occasional early mornings at schools, and weekends
- Occasional in-office hours for training and supervision
