The Family Advocacy Supervisor for Crisis Response & Day-of Advocacy Services provides direct supervision, operational oversight, and quality assurance for Family Support Advocates delivering crisis stabilization services on the day of the forensic interview. This role ensures that families receive immediate, trauma-informed, structured support focused on stabilization, psychoeducation, safety planning, and connection to appropriate next steps. The Supervisor ensures service consistency, documentation integrity, and alignment with the Advocacy Center’s stabilization framework. This position requires a grounded, decisive leader who can operate effectively in high-intensity environments, coach staff in complex caregiver dynamics, and ensure that crisis response services are delivered with clarity, professionalism, and adherence to CAC standards.


Essential Functions:

Supervision & Team Leadership

  • Provide structured supervision, coaching, and performance evaluation for Comprehensive Case Managers and assigned interns, integrating case review, risk assessment, and professional development.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and individual supervision sessions; complete timely performance evaluations and address performance concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Hold staff accountable for documentation standards, engagement expectations, and timely follow-through.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of staff and interns; reinforce clear expectations and accountability from day one.
  • Support staff growth through coaching, feedback, and goal-setting, including skill-building in caregiver engagement, stabilization planning, and documentation excellence.

Program Oversight – Family Support Advocates

  • Oversee the delivery of immediate crisis stabilization services on the day of the forensic interview.
  • Ensure advocates consistently provide:
    • Emotional stabilization support
    • Caregiver psychoeducation regarding abuse dynamics and disclosure patterns
    • Safety planning when indicated
    • Clear explanation of investigative and therapeutic processes
    • Appropriate referrals to internal and external services
  • Monitor documentation quality, accuracy, and timeliness to ensure compliance with CAC standards and funding requirements.
  • Ensure families who do not meet criteria for ongoing services are appropriately closed with documented stabilization and resource connection.
  • Ensure smooth and professional handoff to Comprehensive Case Management when long-term services are indicated.
  • Collaborate closely with the Forensic Interview team to ensure seamless same-day service coordination.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies or service drift and implement corrective coaching or process adjustments.

Intake & Engagement Integrity:

  • Support intake flow to ensure all families are acknowledged, consented, and engaged in advocacy services without delay.
  • Monitor day-of engagement rates and identify barriers to family participation.
  • Ensure documentation reflects stabilization themes, caregiver protectiveness considerations, and abuse-dynamics-informed engagement.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex caregiver dynamics or high-conflict cases.

Family Advocacy Internship Program Support

  • Provide structured supervision and training support to assigned interns, ensuring alignment with program standards and professional development goals.
  • Support onboarding, orientation, performance feedback, and formal evaluation of interns in collaboration with agency leadership.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with local universities and internship partners to ensure strong training experiences and clear program expectations.

Data, Compliance and Accountability

  • Monitor day-of service metrics, documentation completion rates, and stabilization outcomes.
  • Analyze trends in engagement, referral patterns, and service utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with CAC accreditation standards and agency policies.
  • Participate in program evaluation and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support reporting needs for funding sources and agency strategic goals.

Collaboration and Organizational Support

  • Participate in MDT meetings and provide consultation regarding day-of advocacy services.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with CPS, law enforcement, and prosecutorial partners.
  • Oversee Rainbow Room coordination and immediate tangible assistance processes.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, including after-hours and holiday availability.
  • Provide direct client services when necessary to maintain service continuity.
  • Travel to all center locations as required.

General:

  • Maintain professional licenses in good standing and adhere to all ethical standards of practice.
  • Participate in agency trainings, meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Location

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., but work hours may vary and be extended until 9:00 p.m. according to company needs.

Education and Training

  • Graduate degree in social work, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) license in the state of Texas required.


Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in services for children and families affected by trauma.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising staff or interns preferred.
  • Knowledge of child abuse dynamics, trauma-informed care, and multidisciplinary team processes.
  • Experience working with CPS, law enforcement, prosecutors, and courts preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
