In alignment with CA's unique collaborative model, SLPs take on a critical classroom-based role in order to support students' speech and language skills throughout their school day. The SLP will join a strong department of experienced SLPs that have access to the most up-to-date research and continuing education.

Responsibilities Include
- Observe and assess all students’ speech and language needs on an ongoing basis
- Treat students individually for speech and language needs, including receptive language, expressive language, speech/articulation, AAC, oral motor issues, pragmatic language, schematic play, voice/fluency, feeding, etc.
- Write comprehensive reports, including initial evaluations, mid-year progress reports, and final end of year evaluations
- Maintain daily session data
- Create relevant and functional speech goals for inclusion on the child's IEP
- Collaborate with grade level and classroom staff as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Co-teach ELA/Literacy class with special education teacher

- Valid License as a Speech-Language Pathologist in New York
- School experience,
- Maintain a clear criminal record
- Exhibit superior organizational skills
- Working knowledge of gestalt language processing
- Experience using a variety of AAC programs
- Foundational awareness of apraxia treatments (PROMPT training will be provided)
