Today, CADES operates over 30 community living arrangements, adult day programs, the George Crothers Memorial School, and early-intervention services. CADES partners with over 30 school districts in Delaware, Chester, Bucks, Montgomery, and Berks Counties, as well as the school district of Philadelphia, to provide a variety of educational opportunities through an integrated therapy model for the children living with multiple disabilities that we serve.
CADES seeks a Special Education Teacher to further our mission of empowering those with special needs to achieve their highest potential.
Position Description: The George Crothers Memorial School is seeking a full-time classroom assistant to work in our special education program. Position works with students ages 3 through 21 with multiple physical and intellectual disabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning an educational program to fit the needs and abilities of school-aged students living with multiple disabilities and/or complex medical diagnoses.
- Assessing student skills utilizing a variety of informal (i.e. classroom observation, data collection, rating scales) and formal assessments for individualized program development.
- Developing and Implementing IEP goals
- Identifying specially designed instruction
- Monitoring progress throughout the IEP period.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and permanent, provisional, or instructional 1 or 2 Certification by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as a special education teacher.
- Minimum one year experience preferred.
This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including the ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds, bend, twist, and turn.
