Childplace Youth Worker

This job is in Jeffersonville, IN (just across the Ohio River from Louisville, KY). As a Youth Worker at Childplace, you will play a pivotal role in supervising and providing compassionate care to children and adolescents (ages 10-20) in our Residential Treatment programs . These programs serve youth who have experienced trauma, behavioral challenges, and emotional difficulties.

You will be responsible for assisting with educational activities, facilitating therapeutic interventions, and supporting daily routines such as mealtimes, recreation, and hygiene. Your presence and intervention will be key in promoting the emotional well-being, safety, and development of these young individuals, ensuring a nurturing environment that fosters growth and healing.

Compensation

Starting pay for the role is $16.00/hour; Second shift (Monday-Friday, 3pm-11pm) has an automatic ADDITIONAL $2/hr shift differential (minimum of $18/hr on second shift); Weekend shift (Friday 11pm to Sunday 11pm) has an automatic ADDITIONAL $4/hr shift differential (minimum of $20/hr on weekends).

Childplace reimburses Kentucky residents for tolls.

Current Open Shifts

Part-time and full-time openings available for the following:

  • Second Shift (3pm-11pm); At least one weekend shift per week required

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must be emotionally mature
  • Be able to pass multiple background checks
  • Be able to sustain moderate physical activity

Upon hire, candidates will need to complete a tb screening, basic employment physical, and drug screen, in addition to a driving record search to determine eligibility to be placed on the agency's auto insurance.

At least one weekend shift per week is required.

Job Responsibilities

A person in this role will be responsible for supervising between 1 and 4 residents (depending on the resident's needs) as those residents complete daily living activities. The Youth Worker is responsible for:

  • modeling positive relationships skills,
  • following the outlined schedule/program,
  • assisting residents as they complete their program, including chores, schoolwork, hygiene, meals, recreation, and therapeutic activities,
  • medication distribution (after required training), and
  • documentation each shift.

When needed, the Youth Worker is expected to intervene to correct behaviors, according to an outlined treatment plan.

The Youth Worker will be working alongside other professionals, in addition to clinical and supervisory staff who can assist and intervene as necessary.

No experience necessary; all training is provided.
