Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Clinical Supervisor to lead and support our behavioral health team in delivering exceptional mental health care. In this vital role, you will oversee clinical operations, supervise clinical staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families. Your leadership will foster a collaborative environment focused on client-centered care, evidence-based practices, and continuous improvement. This position may be offered as a contract position or a PT Staff position depending on the needs of the applicant.

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

HOURS: Approximately 20-50 hours per month depending on caseloads

TYPE OF POSITION: Contract

LOCATION: Hybrid: Virtual or In-person

PRIMARY DUTIES:

1. Provide clinical support, consultation, (both one-on-one and group supervision) and oversight of the Childhaven clinical services. Serve as Mental Health Clinical Supervisor for the Outpatient Therapy and Therapeutic Foster Care programs and participate on the Children’s Advocacy Center’s multi-disciplinary team.

2. Oversee and evaluate the planning, implementation, and progress of the treatment/service plan and discharge/safety plan for each client, assuring the least restrictive environment is sought. Assure focus on family inclusion in the writing of the vision/goals, utilizing a wraparound philosophy that emphasizes the importance of natural supports.

3. Collaborate with Childhaven programs to discuss client and family needs and ensure referrals are made to appropriate services.

4. Assure compliance with all required rules and regulations as put forth by Childhaven, the State of NM, and Medicaid.

5. Conducts clinical supervision meetings for the programs to address the clinical needs of the children/adolescents in care (typically scheduled weekly) and on-call consult for TFC Program.

6. Conduct one-on-one supervision meetings for each therapist.

7. Consult with the Childhaven Program Directors to assist with the clinical side of programming. Jointly provide feedback for the supervision of the therapists.

8. Assure proper monitoring of therapist-client caseload, as well as program quality assurance and compliance with regulations.

9. Assure discharging clients are assigned follow-up services as appropriate.

10. Assure the proper hours, documentation, and clinical supervision are adhered to for clinical services, per state Medicaid Regulations for behavioral health.

11. Work with therapists and ensure their documentation is accurate, complete and timely.

12. Work with Services Coordinator to assure:

a. A full schedule of clients is assigned for each therapist and emergent, urgent and regular needs are prioritized.

b. A weekly report of outstanding documents is reviewed for accuracy and timeliness of services.

13. Review Assessments and assist with determination of behavioral health diagnosis.

14. Assure steps are taken to minimize the no show rate with proactive programmatic efforts.

JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

1. Ability to provide clinical supervision with a documented State of NM approved Clinical Supervision training.

2. Familiarity with community services and social services delivery systems.

3. Knowledge of the effects of trauma, human development, child abuse/neglect, family systems, substance abuse and mental health treatment modalities for severely emotionally disturbed clients.

4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

5. Ability to supervise and work with others.

6. A thorough knowledge of child and adolescent development.

7. An appreciation of and experience with cultural diversity and possess a working knowledge of the Indian Child Welfare Act.

8. Knowledge of the Nurtured Heart Approach, behavior management and de-escalation techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in clinical practice with children, adolescents and families.

2. A license or licensed eligible in New Mexico as a psychiatrist, Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric Nursing or a Registered Nurse (RN) with a masters in Psychiatric Nursing, Clinical Nurse Specialist in a related field, Licensed Professional Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LPCC), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or other Licensed Independent Practitioner in a related field.

Pay: Up to $81.25 per hour
