Tutor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and skilled Academic Tutor/Education Liaison to support youth residents in a group home setting. The tutor will provide individualized and small-group academic instruction across core subjects, helping students stay on track with school assignments, build academic confidence, and develop essential learning skills. This is an impactful role that supports youths in residetnial homes who may have experienced trauma, disruptions in education, or behavioral challenges. A trauma-informed, flexible, and empathetic approach is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00

Location: Lehigh County, Wayne County, and Carbon County | MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic support in core subjects such as math, reading, science, and social studies
• Assist with homework, test preparation, and educational enrichment activities
• Communicate with Supervisors and residential staff to align on learning goals
• Adapt instructional methods to meet individual learning styles and needs
• Foster a safe, encouraging, and respectful learning environment
• Maintain documentation of tutoring sessions and student progress
• Uphold confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, or related field preferred.
• Experience tutoring or teaching youth, particularly those in foster care, group homes, or similar settings
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and youth development
• Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to pass background and child abuse clearances as required by state and facility
