What are the responsibilities and job description for the CYIA Coordinator - Greater Jackson Chapter position at CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP OF TENNESSEE?
Summary: The CYIA Coordinator (CYIAC) serves a vital role in advancing the mission of Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®) by supporting, strengthening, and expanding local ministry efforts that reach children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Working closely with the Local Director (LD) and being led by prayer in every step of ministry, the CYIAC provides leadership within all summer ministry and party club activities. The CYIAC also focuses on volunteer recruiting, discipleship, and deployment with an emphasis on youth within our service area. These young volunteers will be recruited from churches, high schools, colleges, and universities. This is a hybrid ministry position with approximately 40% administrative responsibilities and 60% field ministry engagement.
Core Responsibilities
Summer & Party Club Ministry Leadership
- Oversee organization and implementation of CYIA™ clubs and party club ministries
- Maintain cooperative relationships at existing ministry locations and assist in developing new ones
- Teach or assist in clubs as needed
- Participate in state training camp as needed
Volunteer Recruiting, Development, & Care
- Regular recruitment visits to churches, high schools, colleges, and universities
- Assist Ministry Coordinator with onboarding new youth volunteers
- Organize and lead a monthly discipleship activity for existing and new youth volunteers
- Provide ongoing communication and encouragement to youth volunteers
Administration, Representation, & Stewardship
- Assist with budgeting process
- Attend meetings and represent CEF as requested
- Maintain accurate ministry records and statistics
- Ensure alignment with CEF standards and policies
- Assist with other ministry directives as assigned by the Local Director
Additional Considerations
Work Schedule Expectations
- Frequent daytime activities (especially with summer ministry)
- Occasional evenings and weekends and overnight travel
- Regular travel within the counties we serve
- Some administrative work may be completed remotely
Required Qualifications
- Clear Christian testimony and alignment with CEF mission
- Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills
- Ability to lead and develop volunteers
- Must be willing to work across denominational lines
- Complete Children’s Ministries Institute® (CMI®) within 18 months
- Ability to pass background checks and onboarding process
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Children’s ministry and/or teaching experience
- Familiarity with CEF ministries
- Event planning experience
