Position Details
Position: Assistant Teacher (1 Part-Time Opening)
Schedule: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children through active supervision.
- Support daily routines, including meals, rest time, hygiene, and classroom transitions.
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate learning activities and lesson plans.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom that encourages children's independence and development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging learning environment.
- Use positive guidance techniques to encourage appropriate behavior.
- Build professional, respectful relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Follow all Virginia licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and center policies.
- Assist with attendance, classroom documentation, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Participate in required training and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Meet Virginia child care licensing requirements for Assistant Teachers.
- Previous experience in a childcare, preschool, or early childhood setting is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to providing high-quality care and early childhood education.
