Job Overview
Join our healthcare team as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, where you will provide comprehensive preventative health services while creating a trusting, nurturing, and friendly environment. You will provide acute illness management and chronic disease support, all within a supportive environment committed to excellence in pediatric healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for infants, children, and adolescents to determine diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
- Manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions, including infectious diseases, gastrointestinal issues, behavioral health concerns, and developmental disabilities.
- Provide guidance to parents regarding growth, development, and preventative care.
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance, medication administration, nutrition, immunizations, and developmental milestones.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation of patient encounters.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff, and refer to specialists or other professionals as needed.
- Conduct outpatient hospital rounds to assess newborns as needed, and manage parent/patient call responsibilities on rotation.
Clinic hours: Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, call responsibilities on evenings and weekends until 10 pm on rotation.
Pay dependent upon experience.
Required:
- Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - both Missouri and Kansas
- BLS/CPR Certification
