As the Food and Nutrition Coordinator, you will be accountable for the administration, implementation, and overall management of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child Care Food Program (CCFP), and Head Start & Early Head Start Nutrition Content area in ChildCareGroup Centers. This position is responsible for the management and accountability of one government contract and meeting all requirements as stated within the contract. This position trains, monitors and jointly supervises kitchen staff in childcare centers to ensure compliance with CACFP, Child Care Licensing (CCL) and Head Start and Early Head Start standards. The Food & Nutrition Supervisor provides CACFP support as required in areas of record-keeping, menu design and purchasing of food and supplies for centers. This position performs under the general direction of the Director of Program Services with extreme demand for independent judgment.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Develops, implements and reviews annual service delivery plan for center segment of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) (Head Start and Early Head Start), and ensures that annual objectives are met.
- Develops and monitors the USDA and agency program budgets in support of annual objectives and ensures that all administrative costs are in line with the approved annual budget; monitors monthly food expenses and provides support to meet budget allocations.
- Accountable for all child eligibility determinations and ensures that records are accurate and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Oversees the data gathering process for USDA/TDHS/OHS reviews, compliance of center nutrition staff with USDA/TDHS regulations in the operation of the food program to assure audit requirements are met, and compliance of center staff with HS/EHS regulations to assure the service delivery plan is met.
- Plans cycle menus for CCG centers and approves menus for ISD and partnership sites.
- Designs standardized recipes and production sheets for CCG centers to meet the required USDA guidelines.
- Assists health staff to identify child food allergies and adjusts menus to include food substitutions for children with special diets.
- Provides support for center staff in regard to CACFP policies, procedures and monitor visits.
- Trains new staff on CACFP policies and procedures and Head Start/ Early Head Start policies and procedures, plans and conducts ongoing training to center staff on nutrition, food handling, civil rights, storage, record keeping, CACFP related policies and HS/EHS policies and procedures.
- Responsible for shared supervision of kitchen staff in conjunction with the center manager.
- Provides oversite and consult for staff who conduct CACFP audits.
- Verify attendance, enrollment, and records for CACFP monthly reimbursement claims from CCG centers.
- Reviews all USDA records to ensure compliance for all sites.
- Supervises the daily maintenance of the food program database.
- Requires the acquisition of knowledge and proficiency of the food program database as well as the USDA/TXDA database within introductory period of employment.
- Provides CACFP training to staff, including regulations, database use, and how to support children with special dietary needs.
- Provides nutrition education for children and families.
- Identifies training needs and develops training workshops as needed to ensure staff have the knowledge and skills to execute all aspects of CACP, state licensing, policies, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Food/Nutrition or Home Economics with a concentration in Food/Nutrition preferred.
- Certification in Food Handling required within introductory period of employment.
- Previous work with CACFP program required.
- Experience in menu planning preferred.
- Working knowledge of personal computers and knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Prompt and regular attendance required.
Travel and Compliance
- Must have a valid driver's license if applicable
- Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements
- Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation
- Ability to travel locally or out of town as required
- Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable
- Must submit to and successfully pass all required CCG and Partner Program background checks throughout employment. These include FBI, Fingerprinting, Neglect and Abuse, Federal, State, Local, and Sex Offender background checks. Background check requirements may be expanded at the discretion of CCG and Partner Programs
