About the Role:
As a Family Child Care Business Coach, you’ll work directly with family and group family child care providers to strengthen their business operations, improve their use of digital tools, and connect them to resources that support their financial stability and overall well-being. This role is part of the Empire State Family Child Care Network —a statewide initiative to help home-based providers thrive.
You’ll provide hands-on coaching and training on topics like:
- Budgeting, billing, and payroll
- Child Care Management Software (CCMS)
- Enrollment tracking and subsidy management
- Health, retirement, and wellness resources
- Parent communication, contracts, and compliance
This position must be filled by a bilingual (English/Spanish) candidate.
What You’ll Do:
- Coach providers on business systems, financial management, and technology use
- Train providers to use CCMS tools for billing, enrollment, compliance, and reporting
- Support marketing strategies to help programs stay fully enrolled
- Provide guidance on HR, tuition policies, parent handbooks, and documentation
- Connect providers with community resources for health, retirement, and peer support
- Track data and outcomes using dashboards and state systems
- Facilitate small group workshops, peer learning, and one-on-one coaching sessions
- Collaborate with local partners and attend meetings with state funders and networks
Who You Are:
- Passionate about supporting small businesses and early childhood education
- Comfortable with technology and excited to help others learn it
- A strong communicator with coaching or training experience
- Organized, empathetic, and culturally responsive
Required Qualifications:
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Business, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in child care operations, business support, or program administration
- Strong tech skills (especially with management systems or data platforms)
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Valid NYS Driver’s License and access to a vehicle (travel required throughout Suffolk county)
Compensation:
- $31.00 hourly or $56,400 annual salary excellent benefits | Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates encouraged to apply
