What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legally Exempt Inspector position at Child Care Council, Inc.?
To assist individuals and families with the Legally Exempt enrollment process by performing inspections and administering Health & Safety kits and equipment; to ensure timely completion of required paperwork, data entry, and approval, in compliance with OCFS requirements.
Responsibilities:(1) Perform required 20% inspections of eligible LE programs.
(2) Perform additional inspections in compliance with OCFS contracts.
(3) Distribute Health & Safety materials during inspections and provide technical assistance as needed.
(4) Perform enrollment services as needed for department support.
(5) Perform data entry for all required information and review data for accuracy.
(6) Travel through the three-county service area as needed.
(7) Maintain continuous, timely, and courteous communication with potential and existing legally exempt providers.
(8) Provide support, technical assistance, and training as needed to providers entering or in any system (potential, LE, registered/licensed).
(9) Apply for and receive NYS Trainer’s Credential within a year of hire.
(10) Attend and actively participate in department and agency staff meetings, conferences and visibility events.
(11) Prepare individual Professional Development Plan and make arrangements to complete defined goals on an annual basis.
(12) Assume other duties as needed or required to support the Council in its efforts to be the premier resource for child care related services.
CompetenciesExcel, Word, and Outlook; the ability to make presentations to adults.
- Associates Degree in early childhood or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in early childhood or related field.
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding of the multi-cultural nature of our client and co-worker population
- Clean driving record and regular daily use of a reliable vehicle
- Comfortable in all types of communication situations
- Excel, Word, and Outlook; the ability to make presentations to adults.
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
- The ability to sit for long periods.
- The ability to communicate orally and in writing, and to handle all telephone calls for the agency.
- Occasionally the employee must bend and lift or move up to 40 pounds using safe practices.
