What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Chief?
Performs general machine operation, including set- up equipment, processing parts, and final part inspection on various assigned equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carries out responsibilities with safety and efficiency as a priority. Prioritizes the well-being of colleagues and actively contributes to the safety program by collaborating, sharing ideas, and voicing concerns. Adheres to training guidelines, policies, and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Proactively identifies and addresses potential hazards.
- Operate various fabrication machines (e.g., punch press, shear, press brake).
- Set up tooling as needed.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings.
- Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently transport materials as required.
- Understand machine operation, capacity, and routine maintenance.
- Responsible for overall quality and quantity of assigned work.
- Properly completes all routine paperwork related to the job responsibilities. Process will involve entering data into a computer based operating system.
- Work at developing knowledge of layout procedures and more complicated set-ups and tolerance adjustments.
- Capable of working independently or as a team with minimum supervision.
Shift:
- 1st Shift - 6:00am - 4:30pm
Education:
- High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.
