Controller

Chief Media is seeking a highly experienced Controller to lead and oversee all accounting operations. This senior-level role is responsible for financial reporting, maintaining accurate accounting records, and ensuring compliance with all applicable financial regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounts receivable, including billing, collections, and cash application
• Manage payroll operations and related compliance
• Supervise accounts payable, vendor management, cash flow, banking relationships, and disbursements
• Lead general ledger management, including journal entries, monthly/annual closings, and preparation of financial statements (balance sheet and P&L)
• Coordinate year-end processes, including tax planning and collaboration with external tax preparers
• Evaluate and enhance accounting systems, with a focus on integrating media platforms with financial systems
• Maintain and optimize ERP and accounting software environments
• Review and refine the general ledger structure to support departmentalization and multi-level financial reporting
• Support mergers and acquisitions, including post-close integration and ongoing coordination across entities
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years experience in a senior accounting or Controller role
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger management, and compliance
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software
• Background in systems integration and process optimization preferred
• M&A experience and post-acquisition integration exposure strongly preferred
• Experience in the media technology sector is a plus
