Founded in 1958, Chief Executives Organization (CEO) is a selective community of leaders among leaders within the family of “O” organizations who seek the camaraderie of peers to share a passion for lifelong discovery in intimate local gatherings and global events. Limited to 2,000 global members, invitation-only CEO membership is extended to seasoned business executives who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in YPO.


Members helm companies, serve on prestigious boards, and hold the highest levels of office in government and nonprofit sectors. CEO members are diverse, globally curious, and represent extraordinary levels of achievement. CEO provides members and spouses with unique, life- enriching experiences through more than 25 major events, 150 local events, and 60 digital offerings each year.


In this role, you’ll lead the planning and execution of our organization’s premier events, collaborating with CEO members and stakeholders to deliver innovative, impactful, and memorable experiences. With a minimum of 8 years in the events industry, including managing multi-city and international events, you’ll bring your expertise, leadership, and creativity to this exciting opportunity. Domestic and International travel required – up to two weeks at a time.


Job Responsibilities


  • Oversee a Dynamic Portfolio: Manage up to two to four premier events annually, serving as a backup for other events when needed.
  • Collaborate with Visionaries: Partner with Event Chairs and Committees to infuse creativity and thought-provoking elements into every aspect of the event, from education sessions to off-site activities.
  • Drive Financial Success: Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility while delivering exceptional quality.
  • Inspire and Mentor: Lead by example as a role model and mentor for junior staff, providing guidance, training, and support to help them excel.
  • Stay Ahead of Trends: Research industry innovations, venues, and tools to elevate our events and propose new opportunities.
  • Enhance Visibility: Collaborate with marketing to promote events and refine written materials to align with strategic goals.
  • Leverage Technology: Maintain up-to-date and engaging online event pages and champion the use of mobile apps for enhanced attendee engagement.
  • Foster Membership Growth: Collaborate with the Membership department to align recruitment and retention strategies with event planning and execution.
  • Deliver Excellence On-Site: Lead on-site and virtual teams, managing vendor relationships and resolving challenges with professionalism and poise.
  • Ensure Safety and Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency and crisis management plans to safeguard attendees and staff.
  • Contribute to Special Projects: Support organizational initiatives and take on additional responsibilities as needed.


Required Qualifications


  • Experienced Leader: You have 8 years of event planning experience, including managing domestic and international events and leading teams.
  • Visionary Planner: Your creativity and strategic thinking enable you to deliver innovative and impactful event experiences.
  • Collaborative Communicator: You excel in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including C-suite executives, Board members, and vendors.
  • Highly Organized: You manage complex projects with ease, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Globally Minded: You’re ready to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes for extended periods, and bring a global perspective to your work.
  • Adaptable Professional: You thrive in a hybrid work environment, balancing independent work with in-office collaboration.


This is a hybrid position based at CEO’s headquarters office located in Washington, DC. Our team is in the office three days and working from home two days each week.


Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000
