About the Role - Sr. Structural Engineer
The Senior Structural Engineer is expected to provide expert technical competency through all phases of design, to include budgets and forecasting; verify structures for various engineering projects in major manufacturing environments; and create highly accurate designs to ensure the safety and physical integrity of buildings and other large structures. In this role, the senior structural engineer will spend time in our office and at clients’ facilities for assessments, calculations, and observations. The position is highly detail-oriented, and the incumbent must be self-motivated, innovative, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Be the lead structural expert through major projects
- Designing, assessing, and verifying new and existing structures, with proficiencies in concrete and steel
- Measure loads and pressures
- Conduct complex computations caused by environmental or human influence
- Create structural models by using computer-aided design software
- Follow safety guidelines and regulations
- Choose appropriate materials based on structural specifications
- Prepare and allocate budgets
- Prioritize, track, and report on several projects at one time
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, designers, and project managers to coordinate programs and projects
- Ensure employees are properly trained and follow all safety requirements
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineering License
- 10 years’ experience as a Structural Engineer with and emphasis in concrete and steel
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods and regulations
- Proficient with relevant design software and computer analysis software (Autodesk products)
- Proficient with writing and editing specifications and technical reports
- Data-driven mindset with excellent mathematical skills
- Good communication ability (both written and verbal); English proficiency
- Attention to detail
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Proficient in the use of Office suite software
- Work collaboratively on multiple projects
