Evening Maintenance Team Member

An Evening Maintenance Team Member plays a crucial role in maintaining order in keeping our market space clean and functional. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, cleaning the bathrooms, cleaning the break room and staff space, sweeping and mopping the floors, cleaning the Sales Floor area, breaking down cardboard, taking out the trash and recycling, and washing and storing dishes as needed. Maintenance Team Members, like all staff, are expected to uphold our core values at all times. This position is part time, and requires some weekend or holiday work. Regularly scheduled shifts are preferred. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager, with regular feedback from Prepared Foods Manager and other market leaders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Cleaning Tasks: Follows SOPs as outlined by Operations Manager to keep the market space clean and functional. Includes operating the electric floor scrubber and cleaning floors across the market; sanitizing and organizing market supplies; other maintenance and cleaning tasks as specified in SOPs
• Cardboard, Trash, Recycling: Breaks down and recycles cardboard, takes out trash and recycling daily
• Laundry: Cleans towels, aprons, and mop heads as needed; folds aprons and towels; ensures items are stored properly
• Dishwashing: Cleans and sanitizes dishes and kitchen supplies as needed; ensures dish machine is maintained according to instructions; keeps dish room organized and clean
• Personal Responsibility:Demonstrates personal responsibility to complete work
• Presence & Communication: Maintains a positive, curious, cordial demeanor while working; treats coworkers with respect and kindness; reliably shows up for scheduled shifts on time; follows directions from leadership staff; communicates clearly and immediately when issues arise

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must have mobility and dexterity required for tasks such as scrubbing, lifting, folding, using a broom or mop, and operating essential equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in hot environments.
• Must be able to work in cold environments for a short period of time (i.e. reorganizing the Walk-In Cooler or Walk-In Freezer). Gloves, hats, snowsuits, and other protective gear provided by Chicory Market.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

• This is a part time position
• Must be available to work 7pm-11pm
