Staff Accountant

Chicken Salad Chick has an opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join the Finance Team. The team member will be responsible for booking and analyzing financial transactions including daily sales reports, reconciling bank statements and cash deposits, preparing monthly journal entries, and providing analytical support to our growing brand. This individual will have the opportunity to interact with and support various departments and levels of management across the business.

Duties & Responsibilities

 Verify recurring invoices for utilities, supplies, and services for stores and departments are recorded.
 Process autopayments in the general ledger based on bank statement.
 Assist in the review of the A/P subledger and coordinate with accounts payable to ensure proper approvals
and accurate coding of vendor invoices.
 Conduct periodic reconciliations of other financial accounts to ensure their accuracy including monthly
reconciliations of vendor accounts.
 Maintain vendor master file and provide other control support to the AP department as necessary.
 Manage corporate expense report process and perform Concur maintenance as needed.
 Maintain accurate lease schedules, prepare the related monthly journal entries, and maintain and reconcile
the related balance sheet accounts.
 Research and resolve landlord inquiries related to rent and expense payment discrepancies.
 Review certain financial statement line items by store for completeness and accuracy.
 Prepare manual journal entries during the monthly close process.
 Assemble information for external auditors during the annual audit.
 Any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Controller, Controller, or management team.

Qualifications

•  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
   Recent graduate or up to two years of experience.
   Solid understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
   Outstanding communication (written & verbal), presentation, time management, and organizational skills.
   High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
   Advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft products.
   Desire to investigate and solve problems.
   Desire to learn and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.
   Positive attitude and professional demeanor.

Physical Demands

• Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including papers, boxes and/or computer equipment.
