What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Team Leader position at Chick-fil-A?
At Chick-fil-A 5th Street Highway, we believe that inspiring, motivating and serving each person that comes into contact with our restaurant is top priority. The Kitchen Team Leader ensures we are pursuing excellence in every area of operations to “Inspire, Motivate & Serve” our guests and team by first exemplifying this within themselves. The team leader will assist Managers to operationally run a smooth shift without compromising the guest experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Required to work in culinary positions including line assembly, prep, and breading
- Ensure food safety principles at all times including but not exclusive to Daily SAFE, reducing the raw footprint, personal hygiene and handwashing procedures
- Assist in supporting all aspects of their work area including working with managers and directors to ensure all areas are functioning properly
- Continuously train, coach, mentor team members to build a culture of learning and growth
- Able to asses bottlenecks and operational issues and coordinates with Sr. Leadership
- Able to command the floor in Sr. Leadership’s absence
- Uphold high standard of cleanliness
- Able to keep team focused and hold team accountable
- Establish communication and accountability lines to BOH team to minimize hold times, run an efficient kitchen, and maintain positive culture
- Help create a team atmosphere amongst kitchen and front and reinforce a positive atmosphere in the midst of busy times
Expectations:
- Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours and lift up to 50 lbs
- Embodies a growth mindset focused on accuracy, follow-through, and urgency
- Must be able to problem solve using critical thinking skills and appropriate resources
- Offer and receive peer-to-peer coaching and accountability to continually improve the business, with key emphasis on operations
- Successfully communicates all systems, procedures and processes to team members
- Embodies the restaurants vision of “Inspire, Motivate & Serve”
- Minimum of 45 hours per week
