Assistant Manager/Shift Manager - Closing Shift

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager / Shift Manager – Closing Shift is responsible for leading evening operations and ensuring a smooth, efficient, and successful restaurant close while maintaining Chick-fil-A standards. This role provides leadership to team members, ensures operational excellence, supports team development, and creates a positive environment focused on hospitality, food quality, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, motivate, and support team members throughout assigned closing shifts.
• Provide coaching, direction, and real-time feedback to team members.
• Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellent guest service.
• Model professionalism, integrity, and Chick-fil-A values.

Operations Management

• Oversee evening operations and ensure shift goals are met.
• Manage staffing levels and assign responsibilities during the shift.
• Maintain speed, quality, accuracy, and hospitality standards.
• Ensure all opening tasks transitioned properly into evening operations.
• Complete all closing procedures and verify operational readiness for the following business day.
• Address operational issues and resolve concerns promptly.

Closing Shift Responsibilities

• Ensure all cleaning and closing checklists are completed accurately and on time.
• Verify proper food storage, labeling, and waste procedures.
• Ensure cash handling and end-of-day procedures are completed correctly.
• Confirm all equipment is cleaned, organized, and shut down according to procedures.
• Conduct final restaurant walk-throughs to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational standards are met.
• Secure the restaurant according to company procedures before departure.

Customer Service

• Deliver exceptional hospitality and create a positive guest experience.
• Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally.
• Build positive relationships with guests and team members.

Food Safety & Quality

• Ensure food quality, freshness, and presentation meet Chick-fil-A standards.
• Follow and enforce food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
