Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise restaurant staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating team members to ensure high performance and excellent customer service
- Oversee daily operations, including shift management, ensuring smooth service flow during busy hours in both casual dining and quick-service settings
- Manage food preparation processes, ensuring quality standards are met while maintaining efficiency in food production and presentation
- Utilize POS systems
- Control inventory levels by monitoring stock, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices
- Enforce food safety protocols and sanitation standards to ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain a safe environment for staff and guests
- Conduct staff training sessions on customer service excellence, food handling procedures, kitchen management, and operational policies
- Analyze profit and loss statements to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost control initiatives
- Supervise kitchen operations including food production, catering services, banquet functions, and bar services when applicable
- Foster a positive team environment by promoting leadership development, conducting interviews for new hires, and supporting ongoing training & development initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience managing restaurants or hospitality teams with a strong background in food service management
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking processes, and kitchen operations
- Hands-on experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; proficiency in cash handling and financial reconciliation
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff effectively while maintaining high standards of customer service and food safety
- Strong understanding of inventory control, budgeting, profit & loss analysis, and cost management strategies
- Excellent managerial communication skills with the ability to lead teams through training sessions, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution
- Experience in managing fast-paced environments such as quick-service or casual dining restaurants; fine dining or hotel experience is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Basic math skills for order accuracy, financial calculations, and inventory management
