Employee Culture Partner I

Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC) is a non-profit organization and one of the largest Hispanic Community Development Corporations in the United States. The Employee Culture Partner I supports initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture. This role partners with Human Resources and organizational leaders to enhance employee experience, strengthen internal communications, and support programs that promote belonging, well-being, and organizational values. This is an entry-level role ideal for candidates interested in human resources, employee engagement, organizational development, and workplace culture.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Employee Engagement & Experience

• Assist in planning and coordinating employee engagement programs and program outreach activities
• Support employee recognition initiatives and culture-building activities
• Help administer employee exit and satisfaction surveys and summarize feedback results

Culture & Inclusion Initiatives

• Partner with HR to promote inclusive workplace practices
• Help maintain culture-related resources and toolkits

Internal Communications

• Draft and distribute internal and external communications as needed  
• Assist with maintaining content for intranet or internal team platforms
• Help ensure communications align with organizational values

Employee Support

• Serve as a point of contact or delegation point for employee questions about culture programs
• Assist with new hire check in activities and tracking to create a welcoming experience
• Support HR & program meetings as needed, including fact finding sessions for record keeping and witness purposes

Program & Administrative Support

• Assist in the coordination of logistics for culture events, workshops, and trainings
• Maintain calendars, trackers, and maintains personnel files as well as filing personnel documentation
• Assist with the processing of Personnel Action Forms and payroll information
• Other duties as assigned to meet programmatic, departmental and agency needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education/Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Psychology, or similar field preferred
  • 0 years of job-related experience. Internship or volunteer experience preferred
• High School Diploma or GED certificate required.
  • 2-4 years of job-related experience. Volunteer or internship experience preferred
• Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered to meet the qualifications of this role
• SHRM-CP, aPHR, PHR certification preferred
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish preferred
• Active/valid driver’s license required (preferred in the state of CA)

Other Requirements

• Experience and commitment to working with multiethnic, multicultural, low-income populations
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, especially Microsoft teams).
• Excellent documentation skills
• Proven ability to follow up and meet deadlines
• Excellent initiative, flexibility, and stress-management in handling sensitive matters
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and delegate to balance many responsibilities
